Interview done in 2003 - http://www.cmcentral.com/interviews/233.html
I respect this guy. Here's a brief summary.. in my own words
While he dated his then girlfriend melissa while still in bible colleage, melissa suggested for a breakup - she needed to spend more time with the Lord, and she felt that He was preparing her for something.
And he nursed the wound on the music ministry's worship leading gigs around the country, he brought forth original worship music to anyone who would listen.
He was notified of Melissa's condition - she was only 20 when diagnosed with overian cancer.
Even though the girl that he loves was diagnosed with overian cancer - both himself and Melissa trusted and God in obedience and they got married. She went with the Lord on Feb 2001. And they were barely together for less than a 1 year if you read through the testimony...
I heard part of the testimony when Jeremy Camp was discussing on a Christian radio station about this song that he wrote relating to the experience and lesson taught to him through Melissa. I was pretty blown away by that...
And now, even as I reflect upon it... looks like God's teaching me something too - about obedience. Trusting in Him for the best, and the best yet to come.
Today, Jermey Camp is enaged to someone who's as passionate about music as he is...
Long way to go... long way...
