sense of value

Its wierd how this term "sense of value" keeps popping up now and then.

I just had a conversation with my 19 year old intern and he was so perplexed why people seem to go for cheaper things when they actually are rich and can afford the top quality things. ahha somewhat, I think he has the potential to work his way up to the hot seat of Art Directors or Creative Directors next time if he really desires such life and work his butt off.

For a 19 year old, I think he cant really see the value of item. Its either the best or the worst. Best job that pays low, or the worst job like Dilbert suck in at 5"x5" cell but pays damm well. Then with the money from the lousy job to buy things to be happy for the moment, then happy mood goes off - buys another item to be happy again.

I forgot to tell him being thrity is a virtue.

Short term gains doesnt accumulate to any thing long term.

Sometimes, we only see one side of the glamourous lifestyle - where its all so glittery and pretty and good. There's the other side too - the dark side. Supporting the business, family...blah.

I was telling my friend about this conversation with my intern, and he highlighted and there is also the other side where people who don't earn much buy expensive things. Well said.

Interesting. Very Interesting. Difference sense of value.
